Job Description

Shega is seeking a dynamic People & Culture Manager to lead our Human Resources function and help drive our mission to elevate decision-making across Ethiopia. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee engagement, professional development, and compensation strategies. As a key leader reporting to the COO, you will shape Shega’s organizational culture, ensuring we continue to be an employer of choice in Ethiopia’s thriving business ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement transparent, equitable recruitment and hiring processes.

  • Lead onboarding, offboarding, succession planning, and exit interviews to strengthen retention.

  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and maintain up-to-date HR policies.

  • Drive employee engagement, satisfaction, and inclusion initiatives.

  • Resolve employee relations issues through investigation and effective mediation.

  • Oversee performance management, coaching, and learning opportunities.

  • Manage competitive compensation frameworks and benefits administration.

  • Maintain and leverage HRIS/HRMS data to inform strategic decisions.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR-Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3-5 years of generalist HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Hands-on experience with HRIS or HRMS systems.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook).

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and HR compliance.

  • Expertise in compensation, benefits, and performance management.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to build and sustain an inclusive, supportive workplace culture.
