The Import and Export Junior Officer in the International BankingDepartment (IBD) is responsible for supporting the processing and documentation of international trade transactions, including import and export letters of credit (LCs), documentary collections, and remittance services. The role ensures compliance with international trade regulations, central bank directives, and internal banking policies while delivering timely and accurate services to corporate and individual clients involved in global trade.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process and review import and export letters of credit, documentary collections, and foreign remittance transactions.

  • Verify and handle trade documents submitted by clients and correspondents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with banking and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinate with clients, local branches, correspondent banks, and internal departments to facilitate smooth trade transactions.

  • Basic understanding of international trade instruments (LCs, collections, guarantees).
  • Familiarity with SWIFT messaging, foreign exchange regulations, and National Bank compliance is a plus.
  • Ensure adherence to foreign exchange regulations and central bank requirements for cross-border trade payments and receipts.
  • Monitor transaction timelines to ensure timely settlement and document submission.

  • Support the issuance, amendment, negotiation, and settlement of trade finance instruments.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of trade transactions and prepare periodic reports for internal and regulatory use.

  • Assist in resolving discrepancies and queries related to trade documents and remittance instructions.

  • Ensure AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance in all trade transactions.

Stay updated on international trade rules, banking regulations, and market trends

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting (especially for banking/trade finance roles).
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of experience in import/export, logistics, trade operations, or related fields.
