Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and timely delivery of construction materials. The role is responsible for ensuring materials are procured at the best value, meet quality standards, and are delivered in line with project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, finishing materials, etc
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and budgets.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to project sites.
• Monitor material prices, market trends, and supplier performance.
• Verify quality, quantity, and specifications of purchased materials.
• Coordinate with site engineers, storekeepers, and finance teams to ensure material requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and internal controls.
• Manage supplier relationships and resolve delivery or quality issues promptly.
• Support inventory planning to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Recommend suppliers and pricing based on cost, quality, and reliability.
• Decide on procurement timelines aligned with project schedules.
• Escalate procurement risks, delays, or cost overruns to management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in construction materials or related industries.
• Experience working with local and international suppliers is an advantage.
