Job Summary

World Vision Ethiopia is looking for a qualified TSFP Officer to support the implementation of the Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP) in Gambella. The successful candidate will strengthen nutrition screening, early detection, referral, treatment, and follow-up of children under five and pregnant and lactating women (PLW) suffering from acute malnutrition.

The role involves supporting Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) activities, supervising TSFP sites, coordinating with health facilities and humanitarian partners, ensuring quality reporting, and promoting national nutrition protocols and humanitarian standards.

Key Responsibilities

Nutrition Program Implementation

• Support nutrition screening and active case finding at health facilities.

• Strengthen referral systems between communities and health facilities.

• Implement Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP) activities.

• Support food distribution and beneficiary registration.

• Conduct nutrition screening for refugees and vulnerable populations.

• Ensure smooth referrals between TSFP, OTP, and Stabilization Centers.

• Monitor beneficiary follow-up, home visits, and absentee tracing.

• Provide nutrition counselling to caregivers and beneficiaries.

Technical Support and Supervision

• Supervise TSFP Facilitators and Community Outreach Agents (COAs).

• Conduct supportive supervision at TSFP sites.

• Ensure adherence to national CMAM protocols and SPHERE standards.

• Support health facilities with nutrition supplies and reporting tools.

• Monitor stock levels and coordinate commodity management.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Maintain accurate beneficiary records and ration cards.

• Prepare weekly and monthly nutrition reports.

• Monitor key performance indicators including Cure Rate, Defaulter Rate, and Death Rate.

• Ensure high-quality data collection and reporting.

• Participate in SMART and SENS nutrition assessments when required.

Coordination and Partnership

• Collaborate with health facilities, UNHCR, WFP, government offices, and humanitarian partners.

• Participate in nutrition cluster and coordination meetings.

• Coordinate with WASH and Health actors to address underlying causes of malnutrition.

• Support integration of TSFP with Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) and psychosocial services.

Safeguarding

• Promote child safeguarding and protection principles.

• Ensure equal and respectful treatment of all beneficiaries.

• Report safeguarding concerns in accordance with World Vision policies.

• Maintain strong adherence to humanitarian principles and organizational values.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree (BSc) in one of the following fields:

• Public Health

• Clinical Nursing

• Nutrition

• Health Sciences

• Related Health Discipline

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in NGO nutrition programs.

• Experience implementing CMAM, TSFP, and BSFP programs.

• Previous experience in refugee or humanitarian settings is highly desirable.

• Experience with acute malnutrition management and nutrition programming.
