Birrama Digital Commerce PLC is looking for a skilled and hands-on DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage, secure, automate, and continuously improve its technology infrastructure.

The role covers Linux systems, networking, local/private and public cloud environments, containerized applications, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure security, monitoring, and observability. Strong practical experience with local/private cloud infrastructure is particularly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Systems & Networking

• Administer Ubuntu, RHEL, and Alpine Linux environments.
• Manage system packages, updates, patches, services, and dependencies.
• Monitor and optimize server performance.
• Manage users, groups, permissions, and access controls.
• Troubleshoot Linux and application-level issues.
• Configure DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, and related protocols.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates and SSH keys.
• Configure firewalls and network access controls.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, DNS, ports, latency, and service availability.

Cloud Infrastructure

• Deploy and maintain virtual machines and cloud computing resources.
• Manage local/private cloud and public cloud infrastructure.
• Work with S3-compatible storage, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, and similar services.
• Configure VPCs, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, load balancers, security groups, and firewall rules.
• Implement secure IAM policies and least-privilege access.
• Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Maintain appropriate separation between development, staging, and production environments.

Docker & Kubernetes

• Build secure and optimized Docker images.
• Implement multi-stage Docker builds.
• Manage container registries and image versions.
• Deploy and maintain containerized applications.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads and infrastructure.
• Work with Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Persistent Volumes, and Ingress Controllers.
• Manage deployments using Helm.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes failures and resource issues.
• Support scalable and highly available containerized applications.

CI/CD & Automation

• Manage Git repositories using GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate software build, testing, packaging, and deployment processes.
• Work with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and/or ArgoCD.
• Manage deployment environments, secrets, credentials, and permissions.
• Automate repetitive infrastructure tasks.
• Maintain versioning, rollback, and deployment procedures.

Monitoring & Observability

• Monitor infrastructure, applications, containers, and services.
• Develop dashboards for system health and performance.
• Configure alerts for failures and performance issues.
• Work with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Implement centralized logging and analysis.
• Work with ELK Stack, Fluentd/Fluent Bit, CloudWatch, and GCP Cloud Logging.
• Investigate incidents using metrics, logs, and traces.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend preventive measures.

Security & Reliability

• Apply infrastructure security best practices.
• Patch operating systems and infrastructure components.
• Secure certificates, credentials, SSH keys, secrets, and tokens.
• Identify infrastructure vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation.
• Maintain backup and restoration procedures.
• Support high availability and production reliability.
• Participate in infrastructure incident response.
• Document incidents, root causes, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

About You

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Professional certifications in Linux, Kubernetes, cloud computing, networking, security, or DevOps are an advantage.
