Job Summary

The General Manager will provide strategic leadership and oversee all aspects of Geely Ethiopia's operations, including vehicle sales, marketing, dealership management, after-sales services, supply chain operations, financial performance, and business development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening Geely's market position, increasing sales performance, improving customer satisfaction, and supporting the growth of electric and hybrid vehicle adoption in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement long-term business strategies and annual operational plans.

  • Drive organizational growth, profitability, and market expansion.

  • Establish standardized operational systems, policies, and procedures across departments.

  • Ensure alignment with corporate objectives and international automotive standards.

Sales and Market Development

  • Lead retail, fleet, and government vehicle sales initiatives.

  • Develop marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness and customer engagement.

  • Identify new business opportunities and market expansion strategies.

  • Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.

Operations and After-Sales Management

  • Oversee dealership operations and customer service standards.

  • Ensure efficient workshop management and technical service delivery.

  • Support technician development and certification programs.

  • Improve customer satisfaction and retention through excellent after-sales support.

Spare Parts and Supply Chain Management

  • Ensure availability of genuine spare parts and accessories.

  • Manage inventory systems to reduce shortages and downtime.

  • Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance, and supplier relationships.

  • Strengthen supply chain efficiency and operational performance.

Financial Management

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

  • Manage revenue growth, profitability, and cost-control initiatives.

  • Monitor business performance through key financial indicators.

  • Ensure proper corporate governance and compliance practices.

Compliance and Stakeholder Relations

  • Maintain compliance with Ethiopian laws and industry regulations.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Geely International and local operations.

  • Build strong relationships with government agencies, customers, partners, and suppliers.

  • Ensure adherence to labor, environmental, and automotive safety standards.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in:

    • Automotive Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Business Administration

    • Marketing Management

    • Related fields

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive industry.

  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.

  • Experience managing automotive dealerships, distributors, or vehicle brands.

  • Strong understanding of Ethiopian and East African automotive markets.
