Job Summary
The Junior Auto Mechanic is responsible for supporting the inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair of company vehicles to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company maintenance standards. The role also assists with workshop operations while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues.
- Assist in diagnosing vehicle faults and recommending corrective actions.
- Perform preventive and corrective vehicle maintenance.
- Service and repair engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brake, and clutch systems.
- Support basic troubleshooting of automotive electrical systems.
- Ensure company vehicles remain roadworthy and safe.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
- Keep accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Support workshop housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Diploma (10+3/Level IV) in Auto Mechanics, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, General Mechanics, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in vehicle maintenance.
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance standards and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of engine, steering, suspension, brake, and clutch systems.
- Basic automotive electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
