Job Summary

Finn Church Aid is seeking a qualified and experienced Project Coordinator to lead the implementation, monitoring, reporting, and quality assurance of the BRIGHT Project in Ethiopia.

The successful candidate will work closely with implementing partners, government institutions, donors, and stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery, compliance, and sustainable impact. The role also contributes to strategic program development, donor engagement, and future project expansion opportunities.

The position is based in Addis Ababa and requires frequent travel to project implementation areas.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Implementation

  • Coordinate and oversee project activities according to approved plans and budgets.

  • Ensure project objectives, outputs, and outcomes are achieved efficiently and effectively.

  • Monitor project performance and ensure accountability and sustainability.

  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits and quality assurance assessments.

  • Ensure compliance with FCA policies, safeguarding standards, and government regulations.

Partner Management

  • Work closely with implementing partners to improve project delivery.

  • Provide technical support, mentoring, and guidance.

  • Promote best practices in project management and implementation.

Financial Management

  • Ensure proper budget utilization and financial reporting.

  • Monitor expenditures and maintain compliance with FCA financial procedures.

  • Support financial planning and forecasting activities.

Strategic Program Development

  • Document lessons learned, challenges, and best practices.

  • Contribute to proposal development, donor engagement, and fundraising efforts.

  • Support large-scale assessments and research activities to guide future programming.

  • Provide recommendations for program growth and improvement.

External Representation

  • Represent FCA in donor meetings, cluster meetings, government consultations, and coordination forums.

  • Build strong relationships with government agencies, UN organizations, donors, and development partners.

  • Enhance FCA's visibility and reputation within the humanitarian and development sector.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, Education, Social Sciences, or related fields.

  • Professional project management certification is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in humanitarian or development projects.

  • Strong experience in project management, donor-funded programs, and budget management.

  • Experience in education programs, teacher training, or accelerated learning programs is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of refugee, IDP, and returnee programming in Ethiopia is an advantage.

  • Experience working with government institutions, UN agencies, and international NGOs.
