Job Summary
Finn Church Aid is seeking a qualified and experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of a UNHCR-funded labour mobility project in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will oversee project planning, implementation, budget management, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and staff supervision while ensuring compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
The position is based in Addis Ababa and requires frequent travel to project locations including Gondar, Assosa, Jijiga, Gambella, and other FCA operational areas.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Implementation
- Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities.
- Ensure project objectives, targets, outputs, and outcomes are achieved efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor project performance and recommend corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure project activities comply with FCA, UNHCR, and government regulations.
Budget & Financial Management
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures regularly.
- Track financial performance against approved budgets.
- Report financial variances and support corrective measures.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and support project staff.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity-building support.
- Promote teamwork and accountability across project teams.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare high-quality donor and organizational reports.
- Ensure timely submission of narrative and financial reports.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation.
- Assess project quality and impact.
- Produce monitoring reports and recommendations.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with UNHCR, government agencies, local partners, and humanitarian actors.
- Represent FCA in coordination meetings, technical forums, donor consultations, and sector discussions.
- Promote collaboration and visibility of FCA programs.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, or related fields.
- Professional project management certification is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian or development projects.
- Experience managing donor-funded projects and budgets.
- Strong understanding of refugee, IDP, and returnee programming in Ethiopia.
- Experience working with government institutions, UN agencies, and international NGOs.
