Job Summary
DRC is seeking a qualified Supply Chain Assistant to support procurement, warehouse, fleet, asset, and logistics operations in Humera. The successful candidate will ensure supply chain activities comply with DRC policies while providing efficient logistical support to humanitarian programs.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Logistics
- Support procurement activities in line with the DRC Operations Handbook.
- Process the procurement of goods and services efficiently.
- Prepare and monitor annual procurement plans.
- Track purchase orders, deliveries, and supplier performance.
- Ensure donor procurement requirements are followed.
- Maintain procurement records and supply chain databases.
- Prepare weekly and monthly procurement status reports.
- Assist in establishing long-term supplier framework agreements.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Support warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Monitor stock levels and submit timely warehouse reports.
- Ensure proper storage and inventory documentation.
- Alert program teams about stock shortages or warehouse issues.
Fleet & Asset Management
- Support vehicle and asset management activities.
- Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs for vehicles and generators.
- Ensure vehicles carry valid insurance and required documentation.
- Maintain fleet records and service schedules.
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with program teams throughout the project cycle.
- Support logistics staff recruitment, training, and capacity building.
- Ensure compliance with DRC supply chain procedures and ERP processes.
- Help improve procurement efficiency and reporting systems.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Supplies Management, or another related business field.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in humanitarian logistics, supply chain, fleet, asset management, or distribution support.
- Experience working with NGOs is preferred.
- Experience managing suppliers and service providers.
- Knowledge of procurement and logistics procedures.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database applications.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- High integrity, accountability, and teamwork.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
