Position Summary

DEC is seeking a qualified and motivated Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEL) Coordinator to support and strengthen monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems across projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in data collection, analysis, reporting, quality assurance, accountability mechanisms, and evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and Data Collection

• Support implementation of MEL frameworks, tools, and systems.
• Ensure timely and accurate collection of project data.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits and supportive supervision.
• Manage digital data collection platforms such as Kobo, Logalto, or similar tools.
• Maintain proper documentation of project activities and outputs.

Data Quality and Reporting

• Conduct routine data verification and quality assurance activities.
• Analyze project performance data and generate insights.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
• Maintain organized databases and reporting systems.
• Track project indicators, targets, and achievements.
• Train project staff on data collection and reporting standards.
• Collaborate closely with program teams to strengthen MEL integration.

Accountability and Community Feedback

• Support the implementation of Complaints and Feedback Response Mechanisms (CFRM).
• Promote community awareness of available feedback channels.
• Collect, document, and follow up on complaints and feedback.
• Strengthen transparency and accountability throughout project implementation.

Learning and Knowledge Management

• Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.
• Facilitate learning events, review meetings, and reflection sessions.
• Promote data-driven decision-making and program improvement.
• Support organizational knowledge management initiatives.
• Coordinate with government institutions, partners, and stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications

Education

Master’s Degree in one of the following fields:

• Statistics
• Public Health
• Monitoring & Evaluation
• Social Sciences
• Or a related discipline

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.
• Strong experience with data collection systems and digital tools.
• Experience working with community engagement and accountability mechanisms.
