About the Job

Marie Stopes International Ethiopia (MSIE) is seeking qualified and motivated professionals for the position of Public Sector Strengthening Specialist. The role involves supporting and strengthening public health facilities through technical assistance, mentorship, supervision, and quality improvement initiatives.

Working under the supervision of the Senior/Programs Manager, the selected candidate will coordinate and monitor public facility strengthening activities, provide technical support to healthcare facilities, and ensure project implementation aligns with donor agreements and MSI quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise public facility strengthening activities
  • Support implementation of programs based on donor agreements and MSI standards
  • Conduct supportive supervision and periodic performance reviews
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project performance reports
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to supported health facilities
  • Conduct on-site coaching and training on SRH services, CFP/PAC, and postpartum family planning services
  • Support healthcare providers in clinical quality improvement activities
  • Monitor incident reporting systems and quality assurance practices
  • Distribute medical supplies and commodities based on identified needs
  • Review service delivery data for accuracy and conduct routine spot checks
  • Document and share best practices and lessons learned
  • Coordinate training programs for healthcare providers and stakeholders
  • Monitor project performance against targets and KPIs

Qualifications

  • BSc, MSc, or MPH in Nursing or Public Health

Required Training

  • Certification in SRH/FP, CAC, Nutrition, or related fields

Experience

  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience for MSc holders
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience for BSc holders

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong coordination and networking skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced analytical and organizational abilities
  • Strong understanding of donor and government health policies
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of local languages is an advantage
  • Commitment to MSI values and reproductive health services
