Job Summary

The AP MEAL Officer will support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities for projects and programs within the operational area. The successful candidate will work closely with program teams, local government offices, and community stakeholders to strengthen data collection, reporting, assessments, and accountability systems.

The role also supports project planning, budget tracking, evaluations, and community engagement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Program Development and Planning

  • Support preparation of annual plans and budgets
  • Participate in project and program design activities
  • Ensure implementation of DME policies and LEAP approaches
  • Identify and contextualize monitoring indicators
  • Support proposal and concept note development

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Conduct monitoring and reporting activities using performance indicators
  • Track project activities and budget utilization
  • Manage and analyze data for report preparation
  • Utilize systems such as HORIZON and related tools

Evaluation and Assessments

  • Facilitate project and program evaluations
  • Coordinate with government offices and local communities
  • Share evaluation findings with stakeholders for learning purposes

Accountability and Surveys

  • Support social accountability and feedback mechanisms
  • Facilitate surveys and field assessments
  • Participate in data collection and enumerator orientation
  • Ensure data quality through field verification processes

Networking and Collaboration

  • Support collaboration with woreda governments and community partners
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and information sharing
  • Promote cooperation through review of monitoring findings

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • Relevant university degree in:
    • Monitoring and Evaluation

    • Social Sciences
    • Or related fields
  • Experience in NGO or development sector programs is advantageous
