Job Purpose
The Field P&C Business Partner will support implementation of Human Resource functions for WFP projects and related operations in Gambella and other regions. The role includes workforce planning, performance management, staff recruitment, organizational development, and employee well-being initiatives.
The successful candidate will also support digital HR systems management and promote innovative people management practices aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Recruitment and Onboarding
- Coordinate recruitment activities including job descriptions, advertisements, and interviews
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
- Conduct onboarding and orientation sessions for new employees
- Ensure staff understand organizational policies and job expectations
Staff Development and HR System Management
- Identify staff training and development opportunities
- Maintain accurate reporting lines within Workday and HR systems
- Review and approve medical claims
- Follow up on mandatory staff trainings and compliance requirements
Performance and People Management
- Handle staff grievances and disciplinary processes professionally
- Support managers during performance management cycles
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR regulations
- Act as an impartial mediator in employee relations matters
Organizational Culture and Staff Well-being
- Lead employee wellness and team-building initiatives
- Organize staff recognition and engagement activities
- Promote collaboration and professional work culture across teams
Required Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in:

- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- MBA, MPM, or MPA qualifications are advantageous
- Professional HR membership is preferred
- 4–6 years of HR Business Partnering experience
- Experience working in INGOs and field operations is essential
- Strong understanding of Ethiopian labor law and HR practices
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong coaching, mediation, and consultation abilities
