About the Assignment
SOS Children's Villages Ethiopia is seeking a qualified consulting firm to lead the development and validation of complementary food recipes and produce Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) materials under the CORE Program in Moyale Woreda, Borena Zone.
The consultancy aims to address malnutrition and poor infant and young child feeding practices by developing affordable, culturally appropriate, and nutritionally balanced complementary food recipes using locally available ingredients. The assignment will also create practical SBCC materials to support nutrition education and behavior change among caregivers and communities.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct food environment and market assessments in Moyale Woreda

Identify locally available and affordable food items
-
Develop nutritionally adequate complementary food recipes for children and pregnant and lactating women
-
Apply diet modelling tools such as Optifood or equivalent
-
Conduct Trials of Improved Practices (TIPs) and sensory testing
-
Produce recipe demonstration videos and illustrated recipe cards
-
Develop cooking demonstration guides and nutrition education materials
-
Facilitate validation workshops with government stakeholders
-
Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks for recipe adoption

Submit draft and final technical reports with recommendations
